Construction Part 3 and Overview

Because it has been a while since we have blogged, we are combining these pics and giving a summary of the last couple of months
The walls went up and Jacob loved helping daddy work.
His question when the back part of the house was closed off was, "why is that our old house?"
With the sheet rock up his question was, "Mommy, why is this our new white house?"
Jason built the back steps to the new rear enterance.
He did an awesome job! He got the boards and posts up using clamps because he didn't have an extra pair of hands. Go ahead, pat him on the back with a comment on
how incredibly straight he was able to do that all by himself.

We didn't have much room for a tree as you can see the pantry and fridge were in the living room, but we found this small one that would work. It was perfect for the little space we had and the kids had a lot of fun putting the Disney ornaments on.

The cabinets came in right before Christmas. The guy in the picture is not Jason, it is actually a cousin of a friend of Susie's from college - we exchanged the "I know you's" for a second and then reminisced some of the funny memories.

Things slowed down at Christmas and throuh New Year. We spent the time in Sweet Water and Mobile.
We had a lot of fun with the family and taking a break from the chaos.

The pace picked back up the first week of January -
the granite came in, plumbing the next day,
then electric, then appliances, and ...

Yeah!!! We were finally able to move everything out of the living room and have a functioning kitchen. Jason kept asking what I thought but I wasn't able to appreciate it fully because I was still recovering from the stress of what we had to live through to get to this point.

Poor Jason thought I didn't like it. I do - I love it!!! I can say that now because I have been able to use the kitchen and my living room is CLEAN and I can walk through the house without stepping all over things!!!

I can't really say what is my one favorite thing, but things I love are how the lights above the sink give it character, I have a double oven, the countertops and floor are not WHITE so they don't show every tiny crumb and everything just looks so nice.
