A Day in Lost Vally

Today we took a short drive from Colorado Springs to visit Lost Valley Ranch, a dude ranch that Susie worked at back in the early 90's. It was a great little side trip on our vacation.

Susie and I took a hike up to Sheep's Rock overlooking the valley. This was the view from the trail. We didn't quite make it the whole way, but considering we just finished two days of skiing and the fact that we were hiking at over 8000 feet elevation, I thought we did pretty well.

Well, tomorrow morning we are headed back to Saint Louis. It has been a good little break and we are very greatful to Nana and Papa Tucker for allowing us to take this trip by taking care of the kido's. After waking up around 5:00 in the morning and driving for 12 - 13 hours, we should pull into town in time to do bedtime with our little ones. We have had a blast, but.......back to reality!!!

Story time with Papa

Papa brought us a big book that Daddy used to read from when he was little. We love our story time with Papa.

We love our Papa. He and Nana are taking care of us while Mommy and Daddy are on vacation. We still can't figure out why they really need a vacation. I mean, come on, we do all the work around here. We clean up our toys, we help feed Jacob, we can even help make supper and brew coffee. All Mommy and Daddy do is just sit around and look tired. Oh well, we are not complaining. We have alot more snack times when Nana and Papa are here anyway.

First vacation without kids in THREE YEARS!!!

Okay, yes we left our kids in Saint Louis for a whole week and no we don't feel guilty. Well, I don't feel guilty. Susie might need some therapy later on.

Winter Park, Colorado is an incredible place!! The weather has been perfect, the snow has been great and the time away from the daily grind has been a welcome break. I am pretty sure that we will go back to Saint Louis after this vacation is over, but if this weather holds....who knows?

Here is a quick shot I snapped of my little snow bunny. She will kill me later for displaying it here for the whole world to see but oh well, I've led a full life.
